Sonic Youth will release their new album entitled "The Eternal" in June 2009. In Japan, we could get Japanese exclusive limited special package including an artbook produced by Tomoo Gokita and Masayuki Shiota. this artbook will be remake of a fanzine "sonic death" previously issued by Sonic Youth themselves. also a T-shirt and bonus CD "New York Battery Park live" will be included into the package. the bonus-live CD is exclusive for Japan, would be issue only for LP vinyl form in US. the release date will be 9th June, worldwide.
I've heard that beck entirly coverd Sonic's album "evol" and would be include into this special package, but that's not announced yet. just one song has released in 7inch single vinyle.
- The Sonic Youth / Beck split features each band covering the other: Pay No Mind (from Mellow Gold) and Green Light (from Evol).
